About Us

High Quality Residential Living in a Friendly, Homelike and Caring Environment

All About Lavender House

Lavender House is a converted Victorian residence set in delightful grounds situated on the outskirts of the village of Alsager. We offer long term and short-term respite residential dementia care for people over the age of 65 years.

The provision of care is focussed upon catering for the needs of individuals who are no longer able to live fully independently. The majority of accommodation is provided on the ground floor and a passenger lift or stairs provides access to the rooms on the second floor.

Safe & Secure

Residents can feel relaxed, comfortable and well cared for.

Care Quality Commisson

As a minimum, we meet the standards expected and defined by the Care Quality Commission.

What are our values?

It is our underlying principle to treat others as we would wish to be treated ourselves, with respect, dignity and kindness. The emphasis is to promote the residents’ independence, along with opportunities for choice and fulfilment, maintaining individuality, self-esteem and autonomy. We manage our home to offer appropriate support to meet identified needs, ensuring the rights to privacy, dignity and self-determination are not forgotten. We hope to create a pleasant environment where the home is truly a home and people are happy to live and where staff feel motivated and valued. We believe in the value of each individual extending our philosophy of caring into all aspects of our lives by promoting acceptance and respect for all people.

The Home is registered to accommodate a maximum of 20 residents, and of course, visitors are always welcome when possible. We provide an active and homely environment where our residents' dignity and privacy are respected at all times. We establish and adhere to policies and procedures that are designed to safeguard our residents' rights and their personal and healthcare needs. We want everything we do at Lavender House to be driven by the needs, abilities and aspirations of our residents and we aim to ensure that we provide a homely environment that is conducive to achieving our stated aims and objectives. Whether our resident’s needs are social, cultural, religious or recreational, we will do all we can to help our residents exercise choice and control over their lives.

Our Staff

Staff

We are aware that the Home’s staff play an important role in the welfare of the residents, therefore, we attempt to ensure there are sufficient numbers and an appropriate skill-mix of staff on duty. We employ 23 staff who provide 24-hour care. There are at least three staff on duty during the day, one of which is a Senior Carer. There are two waking night staff each night and a robust on call system to cover emergencies and unforeseen events.

Management

Lavender House is managed by Miss Cerri Dodd, who has worked in the Care Industry for over 12 years. The manager is supported by a Deputy Manager and Assistant Manager, two further senior care staff and 12 care staff.

Staff Training

Our aim is to teach and instruct staff on how to identify needs and provide the appropriate care for our residents’. The staff have a wide range of experience and are committed to satisfying the individual needs and requirements of all our residents. The majority of our care staff have achieved their NVQ 2 or 3 qualification, and all new staff complete the Care Certificate prior to employment. We actively encourage all staff to continue with their education in pursuit of the relevant NVQ qualifications.
